SHOW

An unparalleled show

“The sparkle of this XXLive performance is due to the profoundly original work undertaken on 550 m2of dynamic images, not only on the stage but also on the choreography. The aim was not to create a new choreography, but to adapt the original to the vast dimensions of the venue . The show was conceived to make this XXLive version of Swan Lake an exceptional show without equal in the world.”

Discover

A new way to enjoy the world of classical music

XXLive is a new event format that makes the audience proud to be a part of it, not just to watch and listen, but also to learn.
During a prelude presented by a Master of Ceremonies, we find out more about the ballet, the composer and the final back-stage preparations. This is not just another performance to watch passively, but an event that you experience with many discoveries along the way.

PARTICIPATE

XXLive shows to experience.

XXLive is a unique participatory event concept. The show is everywhere: on the stage, backstage, on screens and in the stands where the audience, who are asked to dress in white, plays a role in the performance.

THE BALLET

Lac des Cygnes

Ballet in 3 acts and 4 scenes

Score : Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski

Choreography : Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov

Scenario : Vladimir Begichef

The story

wan Lake is a love story, that of Prince Siegfried’s instantaneous and fraught love for Princess Odette, whom he meets at a lakeside (hence the name of the ballet). Odette, however, is under the spell of a sorcerer called Von Rothboart; she spends her days as a swan, becoming a beautiful woman only at nightfall. In love and seized with passion, the Prince is determined not to let the spell curb his plans to marry Odette.

The sorcerer, however, has other plans and presents his own daughter Odile, a sublime black swan exactly resembling Odette, to the Prince. Misled, unable to tell the two apart, the Prince declares his love to Odile…

Music

Born in Saint Petersburg in 1840, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer of the romantic period. He was, with Rimsky Korsakov, one of the greatest Russian composers of the second half of the 19th century. A prodigious orchestrator and writer of melodies, Tchaikovsky composed all musical genres, but was particularly renowned for his symphonies, suites, ballets and concertos. He composed Swan Lake, his first ballet, in 1877, The Sleeping Beauty in 1889 and The Nutcracker in 1892.

THE PERFORMERS

prelude with Franck FERRAND

To open the show, Franck Ferrand hosts a light-hearted prelude that introduces the audience to the ballet, to its history and to its composer. There is also a peek backstage to observe the final preparations. During the prelude spectators are able to learn, participate, improvise and share the experience.
Between each act, there are short explanations, mixing the art of recounting tales and humour, to help understand each scene and have a more complete show experience.

ABOUT US

Behind the diversity of shows that we create and produce, we have a clear ambition: innovate, surprise, create emotion and share an unforgettable experience.

Using spectacular stage sets, audacious artistic concepts and unprecedented marketing campaigns, I have demonstrated for more than fourteen years at the Stade de France that it was possible to attract a wide public to the greats of the classical music repertoire such as Aïda, Carmen, Nabucco, Turandot and Verdi’s Requiem.

Producing large-scale shows that are accessible and entertaining is our objective. The series will start in 2022 with the most popular ballet in the world, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, to be followed by two operas, Verdi’s Aïda in 2023 and Bizet’s Carmen in 2024. Then Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in 2025 and 2026.

Stade Jean Bouin

Designed as an arena in 2010 by the architect Rudy Ricciotti (winner of the Grand prix national d’architecture 2006), with an ecological ambition, the Jean Bouin stadium is a daring architectural structure that serves the current preoccupations of sustainable development and technology.

Inaugurated in 2013, the 20,000-seat “cauldron” boasts a net-like envelope in fibre concrete. It is the pride of fans of the Stade Français Paris rugby team. The multi-purpose venue is much more than a rugby stadium though, hosting a wide range of sporting and cultural events. It is also a campus accommodating several centres of expertise within its walls.
